What is Down Syndrome Football?
Football players with Down Syndrome play futsal as a version of five-a-side football. It is played indoors, making it popular all year round as weather has no impact.
The Football International Federation for players with Down Syndrome hosted its 1st World Championships in Portugal in April 2017. This event saw numerous countries showing their skills to compete for the title of first world champion.

The Football International Federation for Players with Down syndrome (FIFDS) FIFDS is the international federation governing the sport of Football for players with Down syndrome, dedicated to empowering persons with Down syndrome to play football. FIFDS is committed to governing and developing the sport of Football for players with Down syndrome in line with their respective mission and objectives and collaborate with Para Football in facilitating the growth of football for persons with disabilities.
